I've experienced "service"

This is from the Post Office at Eric's college. I believe this means: press bell for a half-asleep sophomore who may or may not have showered in the last 24 hours to respond to your request sarcastically.

Hi,

I took a photo of some unnecessary "quotation" marks over the "weekend". Is there a mail address I can send it to so you guys can add it?

Let me know at 'sausages' at 'the url of my website'.

Great idea for a blog! How about a sister one - unnecessary exclamation marks!?!?! :-)

umm and what kind of "service" might that bring one? hmmmmmm?

My thought was along the same lines as brynne's... sounds like the kind of "service" that should come after "escort" in the classified ads!

The bored sophomore might prefer it that way, too, depending on the customer!

Mostly I'm commenting because my name is also Bethany, and that's just weird, because how many parents in the world choose to give their child a name that means house of poverty? (Okay, mine were foretelling the future: I grew up to be a writer.)

But my own punctuation pet peeve is random use of apostrophes. Or apostrophe's.

Wow, way too appropriate for a sign at a Government business!

I experienced "service" yesterday when my boyfriend and I went out for breakfast. The waitress threw down our plates and then took off for the rest of the meal.

Nice blog! I may use it in class to explain to my students how to use or when not to use quotation marks...
