not really an expert

I don't know much about grout cleaning, but maybe it's more a matter of hard work than expertise? Thanks, Rachel.

beef plus

David is a grad student at BU and found this at an eatery called "the Trolley".  Evidently their hot dog includes some things besides beef.  You've been warned.

not real veggies

Carl saw this at the Decatur arts festival.  I assume the presence of corn makes them "veggie"?

"free" tanning"

Christian and Beth spotted this in (obviously) Grand Rapids.  Who knows what you have to pay for the "FREE" tanning.  Or, uh, tanning".  I love hanging quotation marks.  Where does the quotation start??!?

seriously ambiguous

Eric writes, "Also ambiguous because I can't tell whether there is to be 'no' pissin the author's alley or the author is 'not' pissin around about this."

sounds sinister

Rob saw this in Marmaris, Turkey.  I'm guessing you don't want to be around for this event.

"mexican food"

Who knows what they actually serve here.  Probably martinis and asian food.  Thanks, Joseph.

picky hour

Jen saw this in Mexico.  Does the double quotes actually mean they DON'T have beer?  If that's the case, I think those equals signs around happy need to become quotation marks - what kind of happy hour doesn't have beer?

f.optic ish. or something.

Bernice did her own snarking of this here.  I like that F. OPTIC is a thing at all.  And that you can read it "foptic" which is a pretty sweet nickname for your fiber optic cable buddies.

something is not the latest

This is at Dean's local video store.  I don't even know what "latest" is supposed to modify, there.  It's like the ones that have random adjectives floating around in quotation marks.  "fresh!" "new!"  "tubular!"
