Greg spotted this mysterious sign at Walmart customer service. I have lots of ideas for what kind of people "carebear" might be a nickname for.

Simon saw this one in Brighton and writes, "The "victory" referred to is Nelson's at the battle of Trafalgar - presumably whoever made the sign didn't consider it a convincing victory. Perhaps they were French."

Tanzie saw this in Chicago. I'm not sure if they DO or DON'T carry coke there, actually. I'm going to go with this explanation: they were tired of people from the south referring to pepsi as a kind of coke, so decided to make fun of it on this sign.

Sorry about the dark image here. It reads: Barber shop/ a " real " man's place (etc, that's the key moment there). Having read quite a bit of continental philosophy, I assume this is acknowledging that all the elements of our identity, including gender, are constructed, but if you want constructed realness, this is the place for you. But maybe not.
