don't try it

Marianne attributes this one to "a friend's dad, who was either very proud of his newly installed sink or deeply skeptical of his DIY plumbing skills." At least it's not "water"...

"guaranteed"

Greg spotted this in London. I guess it's not guaranteed in the sense that there is an actual guarantee. Bummer.

"beer"

well, it IS budweiser... thanks Sean.

more or less that whole time

ok, so there was a period in 1992 when it was handmade mediocrity, but we don't talk about that. Thanks, Andy.

and some more

I did an interview with Diane Mapes for this article, which isn't just about this blog but the larger trend of grammar pedantry. I actually think it's one of the more interesting takes on the trend, although I would attribute the proliferation of blogs and books etc more to new media lending itself to specificity than any kind of cultural anxiety.

"business"

Katie writes, "I'm not exactly sure what is supposed to enter there. But it definitely reminds me of the Flight of the Conchords hit 'It's Business Time'"

some wimps think that's icy

some other slippery stuff may also appear on the dock. Thanks, Brad.

sure it's "lost"

No matter what you did with your ticket, you'll still have to pay. We're onto you. Thanks, John.

there are some exceptions

Andy spotted this one at his local compost site. Also accepted: corpses.

maybe, maybe not

Ok, this is probably not an error, but it's still awesome. Thanks, Laura.
