I guess there's nothing new about... money? As a side note, I guess I don't handle cash often, because I did not know the bill had been redesigned and had purple on it now, I thought this might be from another country besides the U.S. Thanks, Erika.
Please send your submissions via email to bethanykeeley (at) gmail.com. I look at them all, but it might take a while to get to yours -- sorry! I love you all, but I only have so much energy in a day.
If you want your picture to make the blog DO NOT @tweet them, or leave them in a comment. I need them all in the same place. Make sure your emails are easily distinguishable from spam or viruses (I use gmail web interface, so images get previews).
I don't usually post the following: newspaper headlines, personal email, craigslist postings, unprofessional websites. I also tend to not crosspost things from other blogs, since I have so much unique material waiting for me to get to it.
Things I see a lot: silica gel "do not eat"; hair dryer labels; inside the bus "do not drill"; Wal-mart sign about IDs; coffee machine with "2" cup sizes; employees must "wash hands"; that failblog post.

Based on the pictures on the machine I think it is U.S. currency.
Canada has coloured money, but it is the $10 that is purple.
I agree that the illustrations on the machine look like US currency. That surely does look like Lincoln.
One of my US $5 bills has a kind of purple tinge to the front of it, maybe that is what the sign refers to?
Maybe it's in China. Did you notice the Chang at the bottom? LOL
I sent in the pic -- it was a BiLo in Charlotte, NC.
The "5" is colored "purple" on the newest $5 "bills."
In the olden days things used to go yellow with age. Since this is "new" money they're talking about, perhaps the ink goes purple
with rage, er, age.
