"new" $5 bills


I guess there's nothing new about... money? As a side note, I guess I don't handle cash often, because I did not know the bill had been redesigned and had purple on it now, I thought this might be from another country besides the U.S. Thanks, Erika.

Based on the pictures on the machine I think it is U.S. currency.

Canada has coloured money, but it is the $10 that is purple.

I agree that the illustrations on the machine look like US currency. That surely does look like Lincoln.

One of my US $5 bills has a kind of purple tinge to the front of it, maybe that is what the sign refers to?

The "5" is colored "purple" on the newest $5 "bills."

In the olden days things used to go yellow with age. Since this is "new" money they're talking about, perhaps the ink goes purple
with rage, er, age.
