now? now? now?

Laura in Brooklyn writes "I guess the implication here is that it's going to take weeks to get your kid enrolled, and there's nothin' you can do about it."

I agree with the guy who commented on your blog a couple of days ago: it's amazing how many errors there are on school signs. Sigh.

Not only that, but they appear to be reusing their Vacation Bible School sign... which, if you'll notice behind the black letters, has the VA and the ION scratched out, making it CAT SCHOOL. So after VBS ended, they apparently started obedience training for cats.

No wonder they went to after-school programs. The kids probably scratch a lot less.

AGAIN with the capital letters right smack in the middle of a sentence! Did these people skip school every day or what?
I think I'm going to open a vein!

My pedantism has been adtivated! Capital letters in the middle of the sentence are fine... if and only if they're added for emphasis. There are also contrasting lines of thought between whether it's acceptable to write a clause in all caps when it is of critical importance (e.g., "if you do not release the pressure, THE MACHINE WILL CATCH ON FIRE!") or whether it should be limited.

Anybody else notice that the "S" of "LUKE'S" is upside-down, too? Give 'em one credit point for manually adding the apostrophe though, I guess. :-D
