Those very well could be pens... they do make pens that look like that and have an eraser.

White eraser usually indicates pen.
If the author of "Pens" was indeed going for humor, (s)he should have labelled the cup "Fish" (or something even more absurd). That might have indicated "What do you THINK is supposed to go in here?". I love your blog! What a great specialty you've got!
