Yikes! I think maybe Hamburger Shop should be in quotes.
Ted's "Hamburger Shop," meaning run-down shack
the quotes signify that the owner's name is clearly not ted, theodore, edward, or anything that would normally be shortened to ted. most likely he was born cadwalader hasensprung, and picked ted for something recognizable to call himself.
