Stacie's mom put this on some food, and Stacie sent the picture to Kevin who is my colleague (this is a long chain of quotation mark sending). I guess it wasn't really rice.
Please send your submissions via email to bethanykeeley (at) gmail.com. I look at them all, but it might take a while to get to yours -- sorry! I love you all, but I only have so much energy in a day.
If you want your picture to make the blog DO NOT @tweet them, or leave them in a comment. I need them all in the same place. Make sure your emails are easily distinguishable from spam or viruses (I use gmail web interface, so images get previews).
I don't usually post the following: newspaper headlines, personal email, craigslist postings, unprofessional websites. I also tend to not crosspost things from other blogs, since I have so much unique material waiting for me to get to it.
Things I see a lot: silica gel "do not eat"; hair dryer labels; inside the bus "do not drill"; Wal-mart sign about IDs; coffee machine with "2" cup sizes; employees must "wash hands"; that failblog post.

this has got to be one of the greatest ideas for a blog, ever.
i hate it when people abuse quotation marks...
I will not make the joke.
I will not make the joke.
I will not make the - ...Stacie's mom. Har.
(I'm sorry.)
It seems to imply that it's not rice, which generally doesn't need to be handled carefully... Maybe it's nitroglycerine.
There is a rice shortage around the world. She's worried about rioting.
For the life of me I can't figure out what she was really trying to indicate with these quotes! Any legit ideas?
Huh??
Handle carefully? Rice? Not rice?
What the heck? I'm intrigued.
Yeh, I think with the worldwide rice shortage, desperate people will grab anything. I do think she should beware of riots. HeHe
No clue as to why some people do this. Maybe for emphasis? Or, just to be cute, or decorative?
Perhaps she was making an understated comment about the fact that white rice is nutritionally void and therefore can't really be calle rice anymore.
