There is all kind of hilarity in this picture. 1) labs rank real estate agents? What do they do, take a tissue sample? 2) if it's not independent or a lab, then who DID rate them? Thanks, Brandi.
Actually, this one makes sense. In their TV ad campaign, they close with the "independent lab" slogan, and then their pet Labrador retriever barks his approval. Indeed, there is no actual laboratory taking tissue samples of Realtors.
False alarm, everybody! Quotation marks necessary!
It's actually pretty "cute"! (Sorry.) However, since it translates better in video, perhaps they should have printed a photo of the "lab"rador on the sign. At least THEN people would "get" it. *zipping out to avoid quotation-mark hail storm*
They wanted to make it clear that, while the lab has not been paid to produce this rating, it may in fact be party-affiliated rather than independent. It is an election year, after all.
I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I dont know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
Please send your submissions via email to bethanykeeley (at) gmail.com. I look at them all, but it might take a while to get to yours -- sorry! I love you all, but I only have so much energy in a day.
If you want your picture to make the blog DO NOT @tweet them, or leave them in a comment. I need them all in the same place. Make sure your emails are easily distinguishable from spam or viruses (I use gmail web interface, so images get previews).
I don't usually post the following: newspaper headlines, personal email, craigslist postings, unprofessional websites. I also tend to not crosspost things from other blogs, since I have so much unique material waiting for me to get to it.
Things I see a lot: silica gel "do not eat"; hair dryer labels; inside the bus "do not drill"; Wal-mart sign about IDs; coffee machine with "2" cup sizes; employees must "wash hands"; that failblog post.

Hahaha "an independent lab". That's awesome.
"An independent lab" here likely refers to the owner's mom.
They probably mean a stray retriever who peed on one of their signs.
Hey, M, you have won a blogging award from me. Come by, pick it up and take a bow:
