I'm noting a disturbing trend here, where each word in a sign is carefully enclosed in quotation marks. When nothing is quotation-free, none of us can truly be free of quotation marks.
You know, sometimes I wonder if the makers of some of these signs read your blog and hope they'll be included here. Because it's just amazing that this kind of thing even happens. WHY would anyone think all those marks were necessary? It takes LONGER to make all those quotation marks!!
I just love checking in here regularly. It sure helps with stress at the end of a day...
Please send your submissions via email to bethanykeeley (at) gmail.com. I look at them all, but it might take a while to get to yours -- sorry! I love you all, but I only have so much energy in a day.
If you want your picture to make the blog DO NOT @tweet them, or leave them in a comment. I need them all in the same place. Make sure your emails are easily distinguishable from spam or viruses (I use gmail web interface, so images get previews).
I don't usually post the following: newspaper headlines, personal email, craigslist postings, unprofessional websites. I also tend to not crosspost things from other blogs, since I have so much unique material waiting for me to get to it.
Things I see a lot: silica gel "do not eat"; hair dryer labels; inside the bus "do not drill"; Wal-mart sign about IDs; coffee machine with "2" cup sizes; employees must "wash hands"; that failblog post.

Those aren't quotation marks; the words are sweating.

Or if it's really a sale. Or if it's "20%" off and not on.
Oh, you should see some of the things we see here in south Texas. The use of punctuation is lost on so many people.
Where is this place? I want to go there and "save" some "money." Sounds like a great "deal."
