Debby found this one in Hampstead Heath, London. It looks familiar to me but I can't recall if I've posted it before or if I just looked at her email before. Regardless, it's a pretty good one. Maybe people refer to me and Jim as "a lovely couple..."

I actually don't think this is that unnecessary - many epitaphs are in quotation marks, as they are quotations of a sort (albeit anonymous ones). It would look weirder without if you asked me.
I think the quotes make it sound too much like a slogan.
I agree with Jeff. Like a radio ad or something....
It would be more (in)appropriate if it said:
A "lovely" couple
