uh, ok.

This is really the name of the store. It ends with a conjunction in quotation marks. And I don't know what dekken is. I think it's funny, but it might just be really confusing. Thanks, Joe.

Looks like a "for rent" (completely necessary quotation marks, by the way) sign in the window. Maybe the customers couldn't figure out what this store was about either.

Wow, Jeffrey, you weren't kidding about that web site.

Eclectic Dekken means electric blanket in dutch.

Eclectic Dekken does NOT mean electric blanket in Dutch. That would be Electrische Deken. I don't have a clue what this store could be LOL.

Actually it turns out that this is a store in Denver, Co. Here's their website, still doesn't explain the store's name though.

Wow, no wonder she didn't get the quotations right...

Google translate's "detect language" function says dekken is Dutch for:

cover
blanket
strew with
lay the table
set
protect
shield
hedge
damp down
tile
thatch
slate
line
margin

Either this lady made up a word, or she invented a new use for the Dutch word. Weird. I want to go to this store.

Yes, dekken is a Dutch verb, it means "to cover" etc. (like my quotation marks there ? LOL).
A blanket would be a deken,to cover someone with a blanket would be dekken. No one ever claimed Dutch was an easy language to learn LOL.
Hey, the store's name is certainly memorable !
PS, if you guys enjoy this website, I'm sure you'll like www.Engrish.com as well. No, I have nothing to do with that website, I just think it's hilarious!

I'm sorry Jeffrey, didn't notice you already posted the website. It's really something isn't it?
