Where I live, a sign that said "One way traffic 'west'" instead of "One way traffic west" would be reaching for accuracy: logical west, the direction we call west, is west-north-west.
Well, there's not much land to the west of an Oregon city. Maybe that's why the traffic is one-way... and then they'll be heading "south"....
