Paul saw this while driving cross-country. I guess the jewelry is made by whatever immigrants they were able to pay ridiculously low wages, some of which were from India.
I'm a regular reader of this blog, and usually love all the posts, but this is the BEST!! I just shot a movie where we drove across country, and we saw those signs all over. we loved those signs when we drove through there on the way to filming, and then the whole time we drove home. I wonder who really makes them...

Oh man, I love this sign. I drive by it several times a year (my field research is in northern AZ and NM, and I did my undergrad in Flagstaff). A little further east, there's a sign for another trading post/souvenir shop that says "No Fake Discounts"
Please send your submissions via email to bethanykeeley (at) gmail.com. I look at them all, but it might take a while to get to yours -- sorry! I love you all, but I only have so much energy in a day.
If you want your picture to make the blog DO NOT @tweet them, or leave them in a comment. I need them all in the same place. Make sure your emails are easily distinguishable from spam or viruses (I use gmail web interface, so images get previews).
I don't usually post the following: newspaper headlines, personal email, craigslist postings, unprofessional websites. I also tend to not crosspost things from other blogs, since I have so much unique material waiting for me to get to it.
Things I see a lot: silica gel "do not eat"; hair dryer labels; inside the bus "do not drill"; Wal-mart sign about IDs; coffee machine with "2" cup sizes; employees must "wash hands"; that failblog post.

I saw this every summer for years as a kid - it's located on I-40 in northeastern Arizona. I always thought it was, well, "strange".

Love your blog, but this post hits one of my pet peeves. It should be "...some of WHOM were from India." Who/whom = people. Which = things. [rant off]
