unintentional comedy

Will spotted this at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and suggests that the quotation marks may be "the deliberate accident of some wry staff member" which, actually, kind of makes it better. Actually, what would be best if it was some ostensibly serious demonstration of "talent" like karaoke.

I think this might have been added by a less than impressed witness to the attempt at comedy. Would the addition of punctuation to someone else's sign in order to subtly change its meaning also qualify this passive aggressive notes?

In my experience, free comedy is never funny. You get what you pay for. Unless, of course, you pay 50 bucks to see Dane Cook.
