questionably legal

I don't know if these feathers are really legal or what. Zander writes, "I didn't buy one, just in case. I didn't want to get caught at the border crossing."

I can understand this punctuation, though I wouldn't actually use it. It is illegal for anyone but a Native American to own an eagle feather. However, turkey feathers can be doctored to look like eagle feathers and are therefore "legal." I think I discuss this sort of thing in my blog
