Driving this car -- what a gas!

So this is GM's new methane model?

This actually doesn't strike me as incorrect, assuming that this car runs on gasoline. We refer colloquially to gasoline as "gas," even though it's a liquid rather than a gas per se. Even though "gas" has become common in everyday speech, it's still anomalous to use the word to refer to gasoline; the quotation marks strike me as apt!
