tough "customer"

Jim saw this in Marietta, PA at the post office.  Evidently, everything about "customer" appreciation day is slang.  (click to enlarge).

If you can get past the UQMs, those backwards-3 Es are kind of endearing.

Mmmm... "punch"...

Well... at least "appreciation" wasn't in quotation marks! They're genuinely appreciating someone... it's just not clear who!

I wish I understood the logic of misplaced QMs. I knew they're often used for emphasis, but I don't think that's why they're used here, at least, not in the small text ("punch," "shakes").

Some people call you customers... We think of you as the annoying people who get in the way of getting other stuff done... we could file our nails or chat, but not with you around (harump)

I think I'm most bothered by the apparent uncertainty regarding the date of the event. Is it or is it not on Wednesday?

I work at Kmart and everyday is "customer" appreciation day, meaning we don't care if there's one checkout open, we're busy and not checking you out at the service desk :-P

kirbir: you must work at my K-mart. And the one checkout is way down the line. That place is annoying.

This almost made me pee my pants..

This day is all about the fake customers.
Who cares if you're homeless and have never had a mailing address in your life- Here at the post office this day is for you.
And don't worry about eats and drinks for the day we have goods that we believe are coffee, shakes, snacks and candies, but we're not all the way sure.
And make sure you come the second. We put "Wednesday" because we didn't have a calender and weren't all the way sure that was correct.
But yeah, come on down. We don't do anything for you "customers," and that's why we appreciate you so much. You are the people who keep us from going insane.
:)

You're "customers" because it's not like you have other options. You can't opt to have your bills be delivered to your mailbox by UPS, FedEx, or carrier pigeon. They're coming USMail whether you like it or not. You can't buy different stamps from some other entity and expect your letters to get anywhere. We are all "customers" of the United States Government. Whom we employ.
