"speed bump"


G. C. sent me this photo, and writes, "Evidently this one actually encourages speeding . . . or perhaps it's less of a bump and more of an impenetrable defensive wall. Either way you better exercise caution. "

I always thought it was weird to call them speed bumps when you were supposed to slow down. Maybe the sign maker agrees.

'Round here they're called "speed humps".

It would be even better to see a sign with THAT in quotes. =)
