not manhattan, clam or chowder

They are, in fact, selling philly cheese steaks. At least the price is honest. Thanks, Krister.

Does that price have umlauts? I knew "Manhattan" was tough, but I didn't think it was that bad.

I think they're just eyes, and the zeroes in the price are yelling at me.

So I don't really know what I get for by $3 ? :)

I hate clam chowder, so I'd probably love whatever it is they are serving.

Manhattan clam chowder. Gross. The "clam chowder" part definitely deserves 'em. It was actually invented in New Jersey, which helps explain why it's so awful. New England style all the way, baby!

take a gander at that "m" in clam. it's got two little legs awandering off. what a nifty embellishment. in fact, i think this sign is an example of quotation marks-as-embellishment. that's punctuaion abuse.

Or, if a single set of quotation marks can imply a pair, it's 3.00 only in the loosest of terms, plus or minus as much as 99 cents.

the alledged "chowder" was actually found to be Brooklyn Oyster Bisque.

Not quite the Bradys said...

Queens oyster gruel?

As a native New Englander, I don't think QMs around all or part of "Manhattan clam chowder" are misplaced at all.
