Sounds "delicious" The presumption--that ALL quotation marks use in signs are incorrect usage--is wrong. It's common practice for restaurants to post and quote "Best of" ratings --Vivian's breakfast spot is obviously a local favorite.
Just because something is common practice doesn't make it not funny. If something reputable called it the "best" it would be more meaningful if it attributed the quote.
This place is actually around the corner from my house. and funny enough I actually think it is the best place for breakfast in Studio City, which is a kind of small city. I haven't eaten at every place of course, only being here 7 years. But any dinner/cafe that the girls who wait the tables make a yearly calender has got to have something going for it.
Please send your submissions via email to bethanykeeley (at) gmail.com. I look at them all, but it might take a while to get to yours -- sorry! I love you all, but I only have so much energy in a day.
If you want your picture to make the blog DO NOT @tweet them, or leave them in a comment. I need them all in the same place. Make sure your emails are easily distinguishable from spam or viruses (I use gmail web interface, so images get previews).
I don't usually post the following: newspaper headlines, personal email, craigslist postings, unprofessional websites. I also tend to not crosspost things from other blogs, since I have so much unique material waiting for me to get to it.
Things I see a lot: silica gel "do not eat"; hair dryer labels; inside the bus "do not drill"; Wal-mart sign about IDs; coffee machine with "2" cup sizes; employees must "wash hands"; that failblog post.

one starving musician came by to say: I really love your site! I'll keep my camera eye out for any unnecessary quotation marks.

@djb:
Nobody is making a "presumption" about anything. But an error "is" an error, and social acceptance of error doesn’t "make" it correct.
I suppose it's all the way you've been "orientated". Irregardless.
Oh man... it's like I've been looking for this blog all my life...
Then it's plagiarism, djb. You can't quote a person or magazine or whatever who says you're the "best" without citing it. That's just silly!
And, again, while not necessarily incorrect they are certainly unnecessary!
I think having a joint for breakfast is pretty hardcore.

Don't know if it's too serious, but it's definitely terrible.
