"save"


Ran in Delaware writes, "My guess is that the surveyors were not sure of their position, and hope someone will knock the stake over before it leads to any confusion."
They don't mean bring it home and keep it in your collection, I guess.

funny! you can never save too many stakes. especially with a pretty pink ribbon. they're just asking for it to be taken, leaving it just sticking in the ground like that. but... since they've made it clear they want it for themselves.. wait, is that clear?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this one is correct, and the surveyors want us to save inches, indicated by what we perceive to be ending quotation marks. (I know that I've been saving way too many inches lately, so I don't actually need the reminder!) :)
