what kind of "friends"?

Another one from Lindsay, I love most things about this sign, but especially the goat or whatever there, and that you can get a tan or use the internet.

It's official: we all have dirty minds. I was definitely gong to say something about new friends and the rear entrance. This sign is glorious!

I nominate this for the Greatest Hits list!

Oh my gosh, I went there once. I went with this nerd, and we were like, "hey, let's check out this internet cafe!" We went in there, and it was all dark with two guys sitting behind glass and they started glaring me down and chatting up the guy. He was like, "um, are there computers here?" And the guys were like, "You have to get a key to use the back room, but can we suggest a massage first?"

I'm not homophobic at all, but we ran away.

makes me wonder if the quotations were not placed on purpose, coming out of the mind of a genious, well-humored promoter.

Jessica... you WENT there? Oh my goodness, I drive by everyday and wonder, "Who on Earth would go there...?" I don't even know if it is still open; it has that one-way-mirror over the front. Weird.

OK. No one else asked. What the heck is trapper keeper art?

oh my stars bethany, you so nailed it. i'm dismayed that someone really had to ask, but you're kinda my hero now because of it.

i googled lisa frank for a refresher, and it made my teeth hurt. how does she capture everything a 6 year old girl could ever want in one slightly manic picture? her website gave me a swift migraine. it seems she's gone all bratzy on us, keeping up with the times and all. i remember her art in my day as being more ethereal and less urbanish. but i did see a lovely backpack with dolphins leaping out of the water to form a heart. that's what i wanted to see. and the sweatshirt with the rainbow-spotted dalmation is a classic. actually, the t-shirt with the lisa frank logo and festive rainbow cacti is ironic enough to be a great stocking stuffer for all your hipster bffs.

trapper keepers may be a thing of the past, but just go to any hokey old rite aid or somesuch, and seek out the spiral notebooks. you're bound to find some with unicorns flying majestically over rainbows, with dominant color blocks of pink and purple. and butterflies and hearts and fairies thrown into the mix for good measure. just googling unicorns, i stumbled across this gem:

enchanting! surely you get the picture.
