"beware"


Megan saw this in Vancouver. Evidently you don't actually have to maintain an awareness.

Well, they're Canadian car thieves and therefore would be exceptionally polite, right? Maybe they mean that you should watch out for them, but not really "beware" of them.

actually, they are telling Car Thieves! not to leave valuables in their cars. The "beware of" is just an afterthought to make us think they are protecting us...

you know, looking at the writing, i really think "beware of" was added later, and the quotation marks are a sarcastic nod to the sign-maker's confusing wording, as the warning would seem to be directed towards the thieves themselves. don't warn thieves! let their karma come to them, especially by the hands of other thieves (they're not a very loyal group).
