Dorie says the cashier was not amused that he had to wait for this photo to be taken. I'm glad Dorie risked cashier wrath, because this is just too absurd. Awesome.
I'm wondering whether this really fits your newly revised tag line ('misinterpreting bad punctuation'). Perhaps you need something more like 'celebrating bad punctuation' to encompass material like this, which certainly deserves to be included and yet doesn't lend itself to "misinterpretation". Just a thought...
Please send your submissions via email to bethanykeeley (at) gmail.com. I look at them all, but it might take a while to get to yours -- sorry! I love you all, but I only have so much energy in a day.
If you want your picture to make the blog DO NOT @tweet them, or leave them in a comment. I need them all in the same place. Make sure your emails are easily distinguishable from spam or viruses (I use gmail web interface, so images get previews).
I don't usually post the following: newspaper headlines, personal email, craigslist postings, unprofessional websites. I also tend to not crosspost things from other blogs, since I have so much unique material waiting for me to get to it.
Things I see a lot: silica gel "do not eat"; hair dryer labels; inside the bus "do not drill"; Wal-mart sign about IDs; coffee machine with "2" cup sizes; employees must "wash hands"; that failblog post.

Oh, man! It's even a SHOPPE. Bwahaha...
I fail to understand what was so inconvenient to the cashier.
I think this is my favorite one.
Hunk "a" Pizza... clearly what they're implying there is that the article is, in fact, definite.
Which leads me to wonder: What is Hunk The Pizza anyway? Some kind of carnival game?

I'm with Heidi. This is my favorite so far.
^^
I'm not sure how this could be correctly interpreted!
Maybe the "a" has something to do with the price change?
This is the best pic of the month, for sure. It takes the whole unnecessary quotation marks phenomenon into the realm of the sublimely surreal.
I wasn't aware pizza came in hunks.
