seriously, it's to your right

Kind of a rash of bathroom related signs lately. This one, that Adam saw while traveling in Southern California (pre-fires), is really exceptional though. The hanging close-quotes at the end really give it that extra something. Also, I assume that "out side" means "outhouse that doesn't lock" (hence the "no" key required"). Also, what's the deal with the arrows?

So they're on the out side? I don't really know what that means

And I LOVE the random extra close quote at the bottom!!

Maybe it's painted on the inside so that it looks like "outside"?

My guess is that it's in an area with beach access. Some little strip malls near beaches will have public bathrooms with entrances close to the beach. In cases like that the restaurants don't have restrooms inside the the restaurant. Patrons have to go outside to use the beach restrooms.

Maybe the arrows are because too many people were wandering off to the left and then just peeing on the wall when they didn't see a bathroom.

Was putting "rash" and "bathroom" in the same sentence really necessary?

I can't understand how anyone working at this store puts up with having such an ugly sign. Who in their right mind finishes adding all that junk to the sign and doesn't see that it is atrocious and should be burned?

I just noticed the exclamation point. Either they got WAY too many people asking where the bathroom was (most likely) or they're using it as a selling point. Like "Hey! use OUR bathrooms! No key required!"

yes, i think you're right. it is a selling point. notice the fancy, leaning cursive. "No" Key Required" ! it really is a convenience!

I would have thought that a thick blue arrow in the middle of the sign would have been enough direction. maybe there's a circle underneath that orange addition rather than a triangle. that would have been a nightmare!

I'm starting to think.. hmmm "out side," no key.. maybe you're just supposed to do your business in the great outdoors. they're saying the world is your toilet.

So brilliant that they've included a single extra quote just in case...
"No" key required"
